%Arabica needs no introduction, they are probably one of the most popular cafes in Kyoto.
Located at an extremely scenic part of Arashiyama, overlooking Katsura River and Togetsukyo Bridge, where you can enjoy your coffee and take in the scenery.

This will be our second try at %Arabica (though first in Japan), my first experience was with the Singapore Arab Street branch.
I don’t have the taste memory to do 100% 1-to-1 comparison to the Singapore version, but I will say it is very consistent in quality, meaning a great cup of coffee again!
Light profile, frothy, and balanced cup of coffee suitable to the general audience. Even the beans used for the Single Origin is consistent, they are using the same one back in Singapore, which is the Ethiopia Yirgacheffe Adado.
I am no coffee expert, but I do love coffee, these are probably the few factors I guess that can affect the consistency of coffee if all else (between the 2 outlets) are the same:
Different milk brand
Roasting of coffee beans (but I believe they surely have some SOP to be followed globally)
The skill of the barista on milk steaming (temperature) and art (this is more on the aesthetics)
Oh right, it is also cheaper here S$7 (approx depends on fx rate) vs S$9 in Singapore. Another point is both the blend and single origin are the same price, so I don’t see any reason not to get the single origin.

Overall
Same consistently GREAT coffee but with a great scenic view and at a cheaper price point (compared to Singapore %Arabica). Do get yourself one when you are visiting Arashiyama!
Although I do hear there are long queues for it, but during our visit (around 9.15am) there are only a couple of people in the queue. So do come early to escape the queues I guess?
