Boulangerie Takagi - Decent bakery located very near Higobashi Station
Boulangerie Takagi
Another highly rated bakery in Osaka and just one street away from our hotel and Higobashi Station, that makes it very convenient for us to grab breakfast that is not combini food.
Note: Higobashi area is not a good hotel base to do day trips from Osaka by the way.
Hot Dog Bun + Fig Danish + Croissant (¥300 + ¥280 + ¥180)
We bought 3 pieces to share for breakfast, Hot Dog Bun, Fig Tart, and Croissant.
Hot Dog Bun - It is those savoury type with different sauces/creams with the sausage.
Fig Danish - Fig used is fresh, the pastry is crisp and buttery.
Croissant - Decent quality croissant.
All 3 are decent, though they are nothing to shout out but nothing to complain too. It is really a convenient choice for us, which we had 2 breakfast takeaways from this bakery since it is just a street away and with decent quality.
Just a benchmark for my local Singapore readers, I will rate one of my favourite neighbourhood Japanese style bakery Yamazaki at 2.5/5, which is also by Yamazaki Baking (Japan).
Rating: 3/5
Overall
It is a level lower than PAINDUCE in my honest opinion basing on 3 different types of bread I tried from both shops.
PAINDUCE is more refined in terms of taste and presentation, plus having a huge variety. Boulangerie Takagi is overall a lower price point across the board (¥50-70 cheaper on average).
If you are in the area, this is a good place to come grab a quick breakfast. Elsewise I wouldn’t come here on purpose.
