Japan 2019 Trip Day 12: Osaka Dotonbori, Kaiyukan, and Shinsekai

Today’s main objective is to visit Kaiyukan as we didn’t manage to enter the other day due to a long snaking queue. Apart from that, we also travelled for photo ops at a couple of iconic Osaka’s spots.

On our 10th day now, which is the halfway point of our trip! Today we will be going to Osaka Castle, HEP FIVE Ferris Wheel, and Kuchu Teien Observatory.

Japan 2019 Trip Day 9: Osaka Shinsekai, Tempozan Ferris Wheel, Glion Museum, and Cosmo Tower Observatory

For Day 9 we explored around Shinsekai, Tempozan Ferris Wheel, Glion Museum, and Cosmo Tower Observatory. Most are in the same area, so it will be more efficient in terms of time spent on transport and point to point walking.

Japan 2019 Trip Day 8: Explore around Osaka

Day 8 is more of a mini post, documenting our short last morning in Kanazawa before taking the Limited Express to Osaka which we had our best Ramen during this trip that spans across numerous cities in Japan.

Ramen style Junk Story - Shio no Kirameki

After several bowls of pork and/or shoyu based ramen halfway through my 2019 Japan trip, time to try one with a different type of broth.

Enter Ramen style Junk Story, which they are famous for their shio and chicken based ramen called Shio no Kirameki.

Menya Joroku - Osaka famous Takaida style Tamari Shoyu ramen

One of the more popular Osaka ramen restaurants especially around Namba district, famed for their Takaida Style Tamari Shyou ramen which is the Chuka Soba -Takaida Style-.

Udon Bo - Tasty Sanuki Udon and Champon!

Our only udon entry in the food list to eat for our entire Japan trip in 2019, but this is a popular and highly rated (3.87 on Tabelog as of writing this post) udon restaurant in Osaka.

Acidracines - Decent pâtisserie but disappointing for us

Another Pâtisserie that I am excited to try during our Japan trip last year, as it is very highly rated on Tabelog (3.88 as of the time of writing this post). We went there straight after our visit to Osaka Castle, since it is around the vicinity.

Boulangerie Takagi - Decent bakery located very near Higobashi Station

Another highly rated bakery in Osaka and just one street away from our hotel and Higobashi Station, that makes it very convenient for us to grab breakfast that is not combini food.

Kiji (Main Store) - Authentic hole in a wall Okonomiyaki restaurant in Osaka

A popular and authentic hole in a wall Okonomiyaki restaurant in Osaka, you can even hear and feel the train sound and rumble, plus the smokiness and tight/narrow seating, the vibe is totally there.

PAINDUCE - Huge array of breads made from local flour and seasonal produce

A highly rated bakery around the corner of BOTANI:CURRY, which we are having for lunch later that day. Since PAINDUCE is along the way, how could we pass up a chance to try it, and also just in time for breakfast!

Ramen Hayato - Best ramen I ate in my life!

One of the most anticipated ramen restaurant for my entire Japan trip, highly rated by many and also received Michelin Bib Gourmand.
