Copain Copine

A cosy cafe tucked in the residential area of Ikeda city, and just a short 2 minutes walk from the Cup Noodles Museum Ikeda. (And yes, we did went to the Cup Noodles Museum prior to this.)

Ricotta Cheese Soufflé Pancakes with Berries Set (¥1380)

This set is for Poka and she chose Blueberry honey to go with the pancakes.

  • Blueberry honey was natural sweet and with a tinge of sourness.

  • Pancakes were fluffy and cooked nicely with a melt in the mouth texture, although a bit sweet since they have additional icing on the top.

  • Fruits were fresh and of good quality, pairs well with the pancakes.

  • Coffee is average, nothing to write about.

Ricotta Cheese Soufflé Pancakes with Bacon Set (¥1380)

And of course this will be my set, and I chose Acacia honey to go with the pancakes.

  • Acacia honey is natural sweet and mild.

  • Pancakes were very fluffy and soft, almost like cotton candy texture, it is even softer than the Pancakes with Berries Set. We assume there’s more egg white to flour ratio for this pancake set.

  • I feel this is more of a support to the bacon, rather than the star of the dish, and also less sweet (no icing) and more savoury with the pairing of bacon.

  • Bacon cooked in Japanese style, more of thick sliced stir fry, rather than the Western style thin sliced ultra crisp kind. (I personally prefer the western style kind in this setup.)

  • Tea is average, nothing to write about.

Overall

Like the header title, it is really a cosy cafe with nice pancakes; good place to take a break after the cup noodles making and museum experiences.

I’m sure you guys would like to relax a bit and also get back some energy before going back to Osaka to walk and take in more sights (and food!).

They also organise pottery/ceramic making workshops in their shop. For those who are interested, you can find out more details on their website, which we will provide below.
