Käsekuchen (¥150)
Different kinds of cheese, and multilayers in this German cheesecake (or cheese cup to be exact).
Ingredients from what we can taste: sponge cake, crumbles, and of course cheese.
Taste: Sweet and cheesy.
Texture: A layer by layer walkthrough:
Top layer consists of the sponge cake
Middle layer you will meet the creamy and cheesy portion
Bottom layer there is crumble biscuit
Rating: 3.25/5
Käse Pudding (¥380)
Pudding version of the Käsekuchen!
Ingredients from what we can taste: caramel, milk pudding, cheese, and fresh cream.
Taste: Sweet, subtle cheese taste, and has a robust milk taste, maybe it is the signature of Yufuin milk?
Texture: Silky smooth and creamy.
Both of the items are great, but we like this more out of the 2.
Wife especially likes the milk taste of this pudding, stating it is a standout flavour/ingredient for her. In her opinion, it is on par with Le Musée de H (Kanazawa)’s Noto Milk Pudding.
Rating: 3.75/5
Overall
Strongly recommended to try, especially so it’s more of a snack so you could easily have stomach for it, plus it is located in a prime location in Yufuin (you will definitely walk pass this!), and affordable pricing.
