Eggslut - Popular LA egg sandwich restaurant first outlet in Singapore!
Eggslut - Scott Square
A very popular restaurant chain from LA known for their burgers and sides with eggs (obviously)! We didn’t join in opening hype when they launched in September, cause we are lazy (and I blame COVID-19 for it).
But hey, better late than never!
Fairfax Sandwich (S$12)
cage-free soft scrambled eggs, chives, caramelized onions, cheddar cheese, sriracha mayo in a warm brioche bun
To be honest, we went in clueless on what to order, so we asked the staff what would be his recommendations and we tried all 3 of his recommendations.
First up, the signature Fairfax Sandwich!
On the first bite, the brioche bun and scrambled eggs are both fluffy and soft.
Combined with the light seasoning/sauce of the sriracha mayo and caramelized onions compliments the egg well. Both taste and texture are on point.
Overall, we got a smooth, creamy, and flavourful egg sandwich where the egg is the star of the dish. Both of us really like this sandwich, nothing to even nitpick about.
Rating: 3.75/5
We definitely will be back to try more of this sandwich with other toppings (they have bacon, beef patty, and avocado) and see how it pairs!
Fairfax Sandwich + Beef Patty (S$12 + S$4)
cage-free soft scrambled eggs, chives, caramelized onions, cheddar cheese, sriracha mayo in a warm brioche bun AND beef patty
This is the 2nd visit update that we promised!
It is all of the OG Fairfax Sandwich and the meaty taste and texture with the addition of the Beef Patty!
Beef patty itself is very juicy and succulent and there’s herby flavours that comes from the seasoning too.
Overall, this is probably our favorite burger in Eggslut, all the best things in an OG Fairfax Sandwich + the meaty protein from the Beef Patty. Awesome!
Rating will still remain at 3.75, as this is more of what you feel like eating on that day, not necessary this is better than the OG.
Want something light = Fairfax Sandwich
Want something more substantial = Fairfax Sandwich + Beef Patty
(Although with this combo it bumps up a notch on the price, crossing the threshold of S$15.)

Sausage, Egg & Cheese Sandwich (S$12)
house-made chicken sausage, cage-free over medium egg, cheddar cheese, honey mustard aioli in a warm brioche bun
If you see the photo, a perfect runny sunny side up to start with.
The chicken sausage patty we feel got the herb-y and unique flavor in a good way, and the brioche bun is the same as the Fairfax, fluffy and soft!
We feel this sandwich has a stronger flavour profile compared to Fairfax; it has a stronger seasoning/sauce taste and of course with the addition of the (meaty) sausage patty. Compared to the Fairfax, which is a showcase of their scrambled egg (in taste and texture) and overall a lighter taste and texture profile.
Overall, still a very good sandwich and on days when one feels like a stronger profile and/or want some meat inside.
Rating: 3.5/5
Slut (S$11)
cage-free coddled egg on top of house-made potato puree, cooked in a glass jar topped with gray salt and chives, served with slices of baguette
The coddled egg and potato puree is cooked perfectly, and you can also see the nice and bright coloured yolk. We are guessing they are using fresh and good quality eggs.
When you dip in it, the texture of both the egg and baguette are of good match; the baguette is able to absorb/”stick” the egg properly without it slipping off the baguette easily so one could eat this easily like using a spoon.
Overall the seasoning is light, we feel mainly is to highlight the natural taste of the ingredients.
One nitpick of this dish, the baguette is a bit too hard without the crunchiness.
Rating: 3.25/5
Truffle Hashbrowns (S$4.5)
duck fat, truffle and rosemary salt
What’s a western place without some potatoes?
Actually, I have no expectations for the hashbrowns, I mean how different or good can hashbrowns could be from a fast-food restaurant and at this pricepoint (<S$5).
Boy, I am so wrong.
The crunch is just nice and perfect, taste-wise it has a very strong, rich and fragrant profile from the duck fat, truffle and rosemary salt.
(FYI, we only ate that like 5 minutes later due to taking photos of the food, that’s a testament to how good the crunch is, not over hard either.)
The only nitpick is, it is rather oily after you bite into it, but I guess without that oily texture there won’t be this signature flavour profile?
Overall, this is the best hashbrowns I have ever eaten at such a price point (<S$5). But best to share this pack of 6 hashbrowns with another person, else you might get jelak if eaten solo.
Ultimate sinful snack, but one I will gladly order when I visit Eggslut.
Rating: 3.5/5
Overall
Eggslut hits a home run with us, we ordered 3 items and all 3 are great!
2x 3.75 score, 2x 3.5 score, and 1x 3.25 score (after our 2nd visit).
No doubt for a fast-food restaurant this is definitely on the pricier side. But it is really worth it for both of us, the quality is there (see the score ratings we gave).
We are already planning for the next visit soon, so we can try other items and see how it fares!
