Watanabe Curry - Great Japanese curry with heavy (meat) hitters

Watanabe Curry is one of the curry rice restaurants which we have in our shortlist for the 2019 Japan trip, but never got the time to try it back then. This time round we finally made it here, better late than never!

Copain Copine - Cosy cafe with nice pancakes in Ikeda

A cosy cafe tucked in the residential area of Ikeda city, and just a short 2 minutes walk from the Cup Noodles Museum Ikeda. (And yes, we did went to the Cup Noodles Museum prior to this.)

On our final day in Japan, we only had time for a morning quick trip to Nanzoin Temple - known for its bronze statue of a reclining Buddha, said to be the largest bronze statue in the world.

Japan 2019 Trip Day 18: Ohori Park, Fukuoka Castle Ruins, and Fukuoka Tower

Today will be a very relaxing pace, and also the first time of our entire trip thus far that we went out of our hotel room around 10am. We will be visiting Ohori Park, Fukuoka Castle Ruins, and Fukuoka Tower as the title.

We will be spending a day trip exploring the quaint (and rather touristy) town Yufuin, where one could experience mountains, lakes and onsen in this small town.

Today we will be spending a day exploring Hiroshima studying its historical part; which are the A-Bomb Dome, Peace Memorial Park, and Peace Memorial Museum.

Eggslut - Popular LA egg sandwich restaurant first outlet in Singapore!

A very popular restaurant chain from LA known for their burgers and sides with eggs (obviously)! We didn’t join in opening hype when they launched in September, cause we are lazy (and I blame COVID-19 for it).

But hey, better late than never!

Japan 2019 Trip Day 15: Miyajima

Today, it will be a day trip to Miyajima and will be moving our hotel base from Osaka to Hiroshima. This is another day of super early wake up to check out of the hotel, and take one of the earliest shinkansen from Shin-Osaka to Hiroshima Station.

Makan Melaka Cendol - Our favourite Cendol in Singapore!

Probably the best Cendol in Singapore, we have eaten this bowl of delicious Cendol many times over the years. Even brought some of our good friends all the way to Changi Village just for this (and Nasi Lemak).

International Nasi Lemak - Still the best Nasi Lemak in the East...or not?

International Nasi Lemak is probably the nostalgia nasi lemak for me, I started eating there since my secondary school days (close to 20 years ago); when their old stall location is where Mizzy Corner Nasi Lemak currently is now.

So the main question is, how their nasi lemak fares with so many new competitors with easier accessibility and more branches.

Burger & Lobster surely doesn’t need any introduction, and we finally made it to B&L Jewel Changi Airport after a couple of times of postponement (CB and Phase 2 HA)!

Japan 2019 Trip Day 14: Okayama Korakuen, Okayama Castle, and Kojima Jeans Street

Another (lost count of how many) super early morning start, since today we need to travel from Osaka to Okayama for a jam-packed schedule. Fortunately, we travelled by the faster trains; Shinkansen (return trip from Osaka to Okayama) and Limited Express (return trip from Okayama to Kojima).

Another super early morning start since we need to travel from Osaka to Kyoto (local train->shinkansen->local train). Today we will be visiting Fushimi Inari, Ginkakuji, and Arashiyama in Kyoto.
